Have you ever wondered why your own eye make up just doesn’t look as good as it does on celebrities and super models? The key to stunning eye make-up is experimentation and practice. But don’t worry if you don’t know where to start. These fabulous eye make up tips will help you to transform your look from girl next door, to catwalk queen.

Prime your Eyelids: When you apply primer to your eyelids after your foundation, your make-up will stand out more an last longer. If you don’t want to spend money on primer, concealer works just as well. Apply a small amount to your eyelid before your powder then apply your eye shadow.

Don’t Be Afraid of Black Eyeliner: Many people are afraid to use black eyeliner, especially if they have pale features. But models know that it is one of the best ways to enhance your eyes. If you apply it correctly the effect is stunning, but as with everything, practice makes perfect. Start out with a soft eye pencil, as it will be easier to use. Draw a thin line as close to the upper eyelashes as you can get. Then go over the line as many times you like until you have achieved the thickness you want.

Not everyone likes eyeliner beneath the lower lashes, as it can make your eyes look smaller. An excellent effect can be achieved by only lining the very outer corner of the lid. Experiment with eyeliner at home to see which look you prefer.

Eye Make Up

Use an Eyelash Curler: Nothing will open up your eyes like an eyelash curler, and they are so inexpensive and simple to use. Simply hold the curler on your upper lashes for 30 seconds for each eye then apply your mascara. Your eyes will look bigger and your eyelashes will appear much longer.

For an even better result, blast your eyelash curler with the hairdryer, or run it under a hot tap for a few seconds before use. Just make sure that it isn’t too hot, to avoid burning your eyelids.

Get Brighter Eyes in an Instant: Many celebrities and supermodels make eyes look brighter and bigger by lining the waterline (inner rim) with white eyeliner. It is important not to apply to much, as you don’t want it to look obvious. Lining only a small area of the waterline, closes to the pupil can be extremely effective.

Or apply a small amount of white eyeliner to the whole of your lower water line then close your eyes for a few seconds. You will still get the brightness but the white eyeliner will be less noticeable.

Pay Attention to Your Brows: No matter how well you apply your eye make-up, your look will be ruined if your brows are not shaped and groomed. Your eyebrows frame your face. Check out images of any celebrity or supermodel and you will see that their brows are always well groomed, and yours should be too.

If you’re not great with a pair of tweezers, have your brows professionally waxed, threaded or tweezed regularly, and pluck stray hairs in between appointments to maintain your look. Many brow pencils are too harsh, so to define your brows use a small brow brush with an eye shadow that is a little darker than your natural brow colour. Then hold your brows in place with a small amount of Vaseline or clear mascara.

Start practicing these tips now, and soon you will have eye make-up to rival Kate Moss.
